Speaking 4 the Planet in New Zealand

Speaking 4 the Planet Christchurch will be held on Friday 11th August in the wonderful TSB Space at Tūranga library, 9.30-4pm. We are very lucky to have Nicola Toki, CE of Forest & Bird give the opening address. She has done much over a number of years to raise the profile of Aotearoa New Zealand’s unique species through her regular Radio NZ spot, Critter of the Week and the new TVNZ programme Endangered Species Aotearoa, and will no doubt set the scene for a very exciting day of competition.

The Christchurch event covers a range of categories – prepared speech, spoken word poetry, visual art, short video, and impromptu drama – with competitors coming from a number of different schools and learning institutions from across the city and district. Recordings and videos from the day will be available afterwards through the Sustainable Ōtautahi Christchurch’s website.
