Lake Pedder S4P 2022
Speaking 4 the Planet (S4P) is an arts-based sustainability competition for high school students. The competition encourages young people to think creatively and share ideas about living sustainably at local, regional and global levels.
The focus of the competition for Tasmania in 2022 is on the restoration of Lake Pedder. Before being inundated to form the current water impoundment as part of the Gordon Dam hydro-electricity scheme, Lake Pedder was the key feature in a national park due to its rare glacial geology found nowhere else in Australia. It was also a place a rare physical beauty and deep scientific and cultural value. https://lakepedder.org
All high school students in Tasmania are invited to participate in the 2022 Lake Pedder Speaking 4 the Planet competition.
The 2022 competition will be held online. A support package provides more information on the campaign to restore Lake Pedder and also explains the competition categories and judging criteria.
