a lake that gazes at the sky while it drowns and wishes it could set a lake that drowns in its own sorrow is no lake at all let it be known that a lake that drowns is no different than a fire that burns and yet there is praise for the sun that one day will set a lake that drowns amounts to that of a shadow in the dark it does not exist lakes cannot weep who do they weep for their mother cares not for their sobs what a disgrace she must think a lake that drowns is sinking like a snake poisoned by its own tongue who else can you blame but yourself young lake look in the reflection and tell yourself this is not you you were raised better than to believe that you could drown and yet you did no one cares when the sun leaves the sky and yet no one believes a lake can drown in its sorrow
